Ingredients

- 1 cup salted butter, softened
- 1⅓ cups sugar
- ⅓ cup brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 3¼ cups flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- ¾ tsp kosher salt
- 1½ tsp cream of tartar
- ⅓ cup sugar + 1½ Tbsp cinnamon (for coating)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F and line baking sheets.
- Cream butter and sugars until fluffy, then beat in eggs and vanilla.
- Whisk dry ingredients and mix into wet just until combined.
- Roll dough into balls and coat in cinnamon sugar.
- Bake 9–11 minutes until edges are set.
- While warm, roll again in cinnamon sugar for double coating.
Notes
Underbake slightly for chewy texture. Spoon and level flour for accuracy. Store airtight up to 5 days or freeze dough up to 3 months.
