- 4½–5 cups all-purpose flour
- ⅓ cup sugar
- 2 packets rapid-rise yeast
- 1 tsp salt
- 1½ cups warm water
- 6 tbsp butter
- 1 egg
- ¼ cup butter
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 1 tbsp cinnamon
- 4 oz cream cheese
- ¼ cup butter
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tsp vanilla
Instructions
- Combine 2 cups flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. Add warm butter, water, and egg. Mix until combined, adding flour gradually until soft dough forms.
- Knead until smooth, rest 10 min.
- Roll dough into rectangle, spread butter, sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon. Roll up and slice into 12 rolls.
- Let rise 1 hr, then bake at 350°F for 25–30 min.
- Beat cream cheese, butter, sugar, and vanilla for icing; spread on warm rolls.
Notes
To make ahead, refrigerate overnight and bake fresh in the morning. Frost while warm for gooey bakery-style rolls.
