  • 2 large yellow onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp dried thyme
  • ½ cup low-sodium beef broth
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 brioche buns, toasted
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese
  • Optional garnish: fresh thyme or parsley

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat butter and olive oil over medium heat. Add onions and cook for 10–12 minutes until caramelized.
  2. Add ground beef and brown thoroughly, breaking it up as it cooks.
  3. Stir in Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, thyme, salt, pepper, and beef broth. Simmer 5 minutes until thickened.
  4. Spoon onto toasted brioche buns and top with Swiss cheese.
  5. Garnish with thyme or parsley and serve warm.
