- 2 large yellow onions, thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp dried thyme
- ½ cup low-sodium beef broth
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 brioche buns, toasted
- 4 slices Swiss cheese
- Optional garnish: fresh thyme or parsley
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat butter and olive oil over medium heat. Add onions and cook for 10–12 minutes until caramelized.
- Add ground beef and brown thoroughly, breaking it up as it cooks.
- Stir in Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, thyme, salt, pepper, and beef broth. Simmer 5 minutes until thickened.
- Spoon onto toasted brioche buns and top with Swiss cheese.
- Garnish with thyme or parsley and serve warm.
