Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • Buttercream: 1 cup butter, 4 cups confectioners’ sugar, 1 tsp vanilla, 1 tsp almond extract, 1/4 cup heavy cream, pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt. Cream butter and sugar until light. Add egg and vanilla.
  2. Mix dry into wet ingredients to form soft dough. Chill 30 minutes.
  3. Preheat oven to 375°F. Roll to 1/4-inch, cut shapes, and bake 7–8 minutes.
  4. Cool completely. Beat frosting ingredients until fluffy. Decorate cooled cookies.
