- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- Buttercream: 1 cup butter, 4 cups confectioners’ sugar, 1 tsp vanilla, 1 tsp almond extract, 1/4 cup heavy cream, pinch of salt
Instructions
- Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt. Cream butter and sugar until light. Add egg and vanilla.
- Mix dry into wet ingredients to form soft dough. Chill 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 375°F. Roll to 1/4-inch, cut shapes, and bake 7–8 minutes.
- Cool completely. Beat frosting ingredients until fluffy. Decorate cooled cookies.
Notes
Chill dough for sharper edges. Store decorated cookies airtight for 1 week or freeze undecorated up to 2 months.
